Jon O'Bir

Jon O’Bir’s DJ career kicked off proper in 2002, when he won a DJ competition run by Passion and M8 magazine. His style of progressive/uplifting trance quickly caught the attention of Godskitchen, who were looking for a new young DJ to offer a residency to and the prospect of a fledging career as Britain's next DJ sensation. His consequent set for Fergie’s Radio1 show went down a storm around the world, leading to an exclusive mix for Judge Jules’s international radio show and a mix on Pete Tong’s Essential Selection. He’s gone on to DJ all over the world, touching down at destinations in Cyprus, Hong Kong, Canada and Greece to name but a few. Regularly playing to spectacular crowds of thousands alongside heroes such as Paul Van Dyk, he’s rapidly become of the biggest international DJs of his generation.

In terms of his own productions, Jon’s first collaboration with similarly impressive upstart Gareth Emery (GTR) was in the form of ‘Escapade’. This proved a huge success and found favour with the likes of Paul van Dyk and Tiesto. Jon then went back into the studio with Gareth to complete their most successful collaboration to date, ‘Bouncebackability’. Since then, he’s been responsible for a clutch of club smashes, both under his own name and in collaboration with others. With his own label, Conspiracy Recordings, establishing itself as a major player in the scene, and no let up in his relentless gig schedule, Jon is set to remain one of dance music’s biggest names for some time.
